The PRINCE2 sample product outlines installed have been developed, by IBM UK Ltd on behalf of CCTA, from the PRINCE2 manual. They are provided as a "starter set" and should be tailored to suite your own requirements. You will need to open each file to check it views & prints acceptably (with some word processors you may need to tailor the basic document) and then save the file as a document of your word processor rather than Rich Text Format(RTF).

Technical Information
The documents were originally developed using Microsoft Word version 6.0 with the "Normal" template and saved as *.RTF. The documents have been opened using the word processors listed below and comments have been included if any word processor specific considerations are requuired. If your word processor is not in the list then the no testing has been performed. This does not, however, mean the files will not work.

Structure of each Product Outline
All documents have been developed using the following pattern....
1. A title page
2. A document history page, to aid conformance to ISO9000.
3. Heading and sub-headings originating from the product outline description in the PRINCE2 manual..
4. Page header containing three lines
Project name - centered
Document title - left aligned
Todays or print date - right aligned
5. Page footer containing the page number. Note: the forms (request for change, issue and off specification) do not contain the first two pages.

Microsoft Works 4.0
When opening a file you will need to:-
1. View the document in normal mode
2. In the Header you will notice the first "H" line is a row of dots. Double click on the row and press the delete key. This will delete the row of dots.
3. Place the cursor in the footer area after the Page text and insert the page number. Use the Insert and Page Number menues to insert the automated page number.
4. The Revision history, Approvals and Distribution tables on page 2 will have been lost to Tabs. You will need to adjust these if you wish to tabulate this data.

Lotus AmiPro V3.1
When opening a file you will need to:-
1. When the Import option dialog is displayed select the Convert Styles option.
2. Edit the footer and delete the page number, re-inserting the page number by using the Page and Page Numbering menus.
3. The tables on page two may require adjustment.

Lotus WordPro 97
No Problems.
